The Pearl Fade

Mario from Entering the Art Zone cut this look.  He calls it the Pearl fade.  Take a good look at what he did here.  I did a double take when I first saw it.  This is truly well done and a demonstration of mastery of our craft and dominance with our tools.  This is a small spot fade on the side on the flat of the head.  This fade fades 360 degrees from the center spot.  Amazing.  That means it fades both with and against (and sideways) of the natural growth direction of the hair.  The spot is symmetrical and balanced and evenly faded all the way around.  Kudos to a masterful technician and creative talent.  of course he did it with a Andis master clipper.  Nice work.

Danny Amorim at IBS NYC

Danny Amorim cut with us for the day on Monday at IBS NYC.  Thank you Danny for sharing your skills and demonstrating Andis tools with skill and enthusiasm.  Nice job Danny.  Look to see Danny again on an Andis stage!  Danny rocked a design on this cut and then tidied up the edges with Andis Bump Care.  Yes.  That is Tone in the background clippering away at the other chair.

Karen Roby at IBS NYC

Karen  Roby was a stand-out presenter at IBS NY this past weekend.  She was with us here in NYC last year for one day.  This year she stepped up for the full event.  Karen is truly a 5 tool player as they say in baseball.  In hair cutting... clipper, trimmer, blow dryer, flat iron , curling iron.  Karen can rock them all with talent, class and style.  Karen clipper cut guys and ladies.  Karen finished cuts with liquid products and Andis thermal tools.  Karen is a cosmetology school instructor in "real life" which gives her a big advantage as a presenter and motivator.  One of the highlights of Karen's demonstrations was my haircut.  Karen rocked a great taper on my head. Thank you Karen for a great hair cut and a great show  weekend.  Look for Karen at another show soon.

Hair on the floor

We put a lot of hair on the floor today at the Graham Webb Academy in Arlington, VA. The Andis Modern Man class in the morning was followed up with a hands-on clipper workshop featuring the NEW Andis Envy clipper. Every class participant took home a brand new Envy... Slightly used... Since we did some awesome clipper cutting with it first. At the end of the class everyone posed for a picture with their certificates to proudly display in their shop proclaiming that they have completed the program and can rock an awesome guys clipper cut. next up is IBS NYC... See you there. Classes, stage demos, deals and more. April 22, 23, 24.

90th Anniversary master clipper sell out at ABS

I do not think it is because we did not bring enough of them... we had plenty... The ABS Chicago crowd turned out in a big way to support Andis' 90th anniversary and to snap up all of the 90th limited edition master clippers we had for sale at the event. Next up on the major show calendar is IBS NYC. If you do not buy one from a dealer before then... you can get yours in the Big Apple.

Amanda Bush makes her Andis debut

Amanda Bush made her Andis debut at ABS this past weekend. We took a gamble (not much of a gamble) and brought her out to a BIG show for her FIRST show. Amanda presented some great clipper cutting and held her own well against Andis veteran Tone McGill. Clip for clip she was right in there showing off solid skills and drawing in big crowds. Look for more of Amanda at other Andis events in the near future.
